The USM Libraries do not offer a proof-reading/editing service, but here are some suggestions:

  • If you can plan in advance, check with your course instructor to see if he or she is available to review the paper.  You can also ask a classmate or friend to read it, or offer to proofread/peer-edit each other's work.
  • The USM writing tutors are instrumental in building skills in the writing process.  You can make an appointment with a tutor for a face-to-face or online appointment by using "Schedule a Tutor".
  • If you are seeking assistance with how to cite sources, The Writing Center at USM's Lewiston-Auburn College has compiled resources onto one website and the Library has citation resources online.
  • If you need assistance with time management or study skills, consider scheduling an appointment with a peer-tutor using "Schedule a Tutor."
